So, as I continue my quest to upgrade my Lincoln Cents to uncirculated, I thought I would see if anyone had any opinions to throw out there on what is realistic price-wise on my "short list*". Target grade is MS63RB:

1909-S $?
1913-S $?
1915-S etc.
1918-D
1918-S
1924-D
1926-S

* A note about the short list: these are the coins I need to "complete" my uncirculated Lincoln set, with the exception of the 14-D (I have a VG-10, not sure I will ever have the $$$ for this one in MS), 22 Plain (not part of my set and won't be) and 09-S VDB (gonna have to be a real special occasion on this one). Not every current uncirculated coin is MS63RB and there's a few AU sliders, but they are good enough to be behind the above which are all lower grade circulated examples.

I have my own target prices I will post later but want other opinions to see if I am in the ballpark or smoking crack as they say...

I have nothing expert for you. Only posting to suggest that the thread title struck me as so hilarious I had to stop for a while before I could type again.

I thought I was going to find a thread detailing how you found four uncirculated wheat cents sitting on the shelf at a local grocery store.

Time to get a Red Book. Prices are excessive but could give you an idea. But not in a grocery store.

For all of these, I'd be going straight to Heritage to look up past auction results including the high-res images to evaluate how good at the grade each example is.

Use greysheet prices in general Ken. However, the coins on your list are fairly rare. If you find one with the right eye-appeal, expect to pay more. I've found dealers don't like to budge much on attractive, MS examples because they're scarce.

Fairly rare - that's an understatement. So hard to find these at reasonable prices.

Appreciate all the replies. Is there a source for Greysheet pricing online? Don't have access to these; thanks GR for posting. I guess maybe I need to spend the money and buy something like a RedBook.

Here are my prices based on a combination of Heritage, ebay completed auctions, Numismedia, PCGS and a decent Lincoln site I have used in the past. First price is what I would like to pay; second price is probably upper end for a really nice example:

1909-S $300-500
1913-S $265-425
1915-S $280-450 (I seem to be low here)
1918-D $150-200
1918-S $180-240
1924-D $360-570
1926-S $570-1170 (looking below, I may be high here)

I was happy that I was able to snag a nice 17-S ANACS 63-RB for $245 recently. My range on that was $150-330.

Here's some items I am tracking on Heritage that just ended:

7249 Lincoln Cents:
1915-S 1C MS63 Red and Brown PCGS. Sold for $900
($1,057.50 w/BP)

7261 Lincoln Cents:
1917-S 1C MS63 Red PCGS. CAC.
Sold for $320
($376.00 w/BP)

7285 Lincoln Cents:
1926-S 1C MS62 Red and Brown NGC.
Sold for $600
($705.00 w/BP)

7286 Lincoln Cents:
1926-S 1C MS63 Red and Brown PCGS.
Sold for $600
($705.00 w/BP)

7287 Lincoln Cents:
1926-S 1C MS63 Red and Brown PCGS.
Sold for $575
($675.62 w/BP)

25497 Lincoln Cents:
1913-S 1C MS62 Red PCGS. (this one looked like it had turned brown in the holder)
Sold for $220
($258.50 w/BP)

Looking at ebay at the moment, I see (these may be overpriced in some cases - I should look at completed auctions):

09-S A really nice PCGS MS64RB for $530 (need to save some money up)

13-S No 63's; there's a beautiful 64 for $699

15-S Nothing decent, even the 63BN's are asking $500+

18-S Couple of nice 63's in the $275 range

24-D Slim pickins

26-S There's a decent 63 for $939

Gonna post all this so I can go back and look at everyone's responses and maybe make some adjustments in my targets.

This has been pretty helpful for me actually, thanks!

Ken
Looks like your doing the right research.

As others posted, it does seem like higher grade early Lincoln's
do sell higher than the guides suggest.

But then, coin dealers consider the greysheet as the wholesale
price. Most times when dealers are buying, they buy back of greysheet.

I was just looking at greysheet.com.

I see that anyone can subscribe, but there are sections.
I look at the greysheet most everyday I work,, it is just
A copy yet he boos prints out. I do update he pages when
they print out updates. I can look when I get to work and
See what section Lincoln's are in.

The official name of greysheet is
Coin Dealers newsletter.

There is also a section call green sheet for currency.

Seems like there is the main section.

Then there are quarterly newsletters.

The 15 S, ooooph....this was an eye popping experience. I have a PCGS 64 BN, that I paid $1K for...and was HAPPY!

S VDB prices have come down 10 to 20 percent over the last year. I would buy this date/mm last...there are plenty available.

I saw a 15-S at a coin show last month. At the time, I thought the guy was really asking a lot for it. Now I am thinking I should have looked closer! It was raw though and didn't look at it that closely after I saw the price - $550 I believe.

Gonna be slow going on these with my budget and a kid starting college!
