When I checked CDN's stock this morning.
It had 6 pcs available.
I doubted The Coin Shoppe sold more than 5 pcs.

I was almost a lone voice touting the 2013 gold Superman pre release. This gold LT is not for flippers.

NuMoose also told us, that he will consult with his wife and since being superman fan, he will order all 7 coins for the collection. And this LT coin might behave similar (without raising too high) - where ever it offered (dealers) - it soldout, together with it on the secondary market- ebay, the prices already can be found below 1K : 3 coins offered for CAD 967 + shippingLooks like low, but no public release yet, and the seller will still earn some amount under CAD 100.

Silveroid, Gold is not a sticker... The mint refers to it as colour engraving... Somebody labeled it as pixelated... Initial posting showed it to be an dull muted colour...with obvious dot-matrix like pixels... Seems to be a new approach for the RCM - as seen on the 20 for 20 Cdn flag... Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't, which will invariably impact on whether those who buy - retain it. It will not look as vibrant as the image being posted on any dealers website or RCM. ...but sticker...its not.

"This gold LT is not for flippers" brian686 you can say that again. The sellers on ebay keep dropping their prices because all the big dealers sell for RCM's issue price. So does anybody know how these dealers sell these coins at the Mint's issue price before they are released to the general public. They must get a good discount and be able to buy alot more than the MC members with a rep. and the RCM allows this to happen? It make me wonder what the advantages of have a rep are?

Sorry, Electrum, I shouldn't call like this. By sticker tried express my dislike of this type of the design. And I do not really know, if the surface has a relief, matching to the color, and than was colorized, ot it is picture on the plain surface, but for sure not real sticker. As for all RCM / RAM / RM coins, I hope it will hold the value (issue price) (do not like, when due to any fact, the coin became overpriced - this is usually just hype and nothing else).

Dealers are pre-selling the coins at the moment as I don't believe the coin ships for a another week or so. Secondly, you have to understand that the mint has a network of wholesale dealers that then sell to retailers. Both of those transactions are still below the price YOU pay from the mint as a customer. Some "wholesalers" have been known to retail the product which gives them even a bigger advantage over "flippers" or smaller dealers. You'll often notice some of the larger dealers selling RCM product on ebay at the mint price and low shipping. (the mint frowns when dealers sell below cost on active coins that are still available at the mint). The ebay fees and low shipping have to come from somewhere, right? They come out of the dealer's margin.

They both offer a point system but Gatewest's VIP discount amount to 5% off new coins. Even at 5% discount, Gatewest is making money. I doubt the RCM cares if dealers sell below cost since they don't seem to care when dealers raise prices when coins become hot(which we havn't seen for awhile). So long as the RCM gets their cut they are happy.

RCM absolutely does care if they are being undersold on active coins. Enforcing it in any way is another store. The reason they do is to allow smaller dealers to compete since they use a tiered system. And yes, the larger (and smaller) dealers make money at 5% and even do so if they were to discount 10%. Also, profit margins are significantly higher on sets.

Well...I purchased the gold looney tune coin, the set of 3 (2ounce) coins as well as a set of the 4 (1ounce) coins. I am a new collector and I guess I am a sucker for great cartoon coins. Have I made a mistake? NO.....I love this collection!

I wont be buying any LT coins for various reasons. If bullion companies keep making rounds like the 2 oz privateer/skull rounds there will be no need for NCLTs. Or maybe just less need. Cant beat 2 oz high relief .999 silver for $5 to $6 over spot.

You never make a mistake when you purchase to keep. You may have minor diapointment in the distant future when you sell, and see the difference in what you get vis a vis what you paid.
