Hey guys, What do you think about it? I'm not a fun of these things, as I don't event consider them coins, but I don't know why, I like it. It's a very simple design for the anniversary of Canada. Now, the price is $159.95 for 1.5 oz and a mintage of 10,000 .

One "Flag" coin is enough for the collection, and previous 3 dollars coin, imo, looks better.
This one has some uniqueness and simple clear design. But what for (except make more money) needed to mint it with 10.000 mintage, priced almost like 2oz coin?

An interesting piece, although I wouldn't pay $160 CAD or USD for it. I've noticed that the RCM mints lots of creative and colorful commemoratives, unlike the U.S. Mint. I wouldn't say this is one of the nicer looking Canadian commemoratives, but interesting nonetheless.

I think all the previous flag coins look better than this. They kind of just slapped a flag on there.

For some reason I like the design, too expensive to order, looks like a bullion bar/wafer.

I like it but I probably will not buy it right now. I will wait until next year and get one for half price.

As others do, I believe the RCM has already issued more interesting/attractive coins celebrating the 50th anniversary of Canada's flag. The piece also struck me as expensive. I've purchased the various versions of the silver dollar plus the $3 silver coin - I think those are enough "flag coins" for me!

Nice coin but the mintage is too high.

Just like most collectors are saying, coin a day and theme overload, a simple wafer is a poor design for a coin.

I normally don't compare bullion and collector coins but this one reminds me too much of silver bars and not coins. Silvertowne sell an American flag that I find similar to this one. The difference is weight, the finish, the mintage and more than $120! That wafer is about $38CAD today. So why can't the RCM produce a similar bullion item with the same type of pricing?

Once again, the packaging looks better than the coin (bullion bar?). It looks like the mint took on a summer-student engraver.

Might be RCM has to pay for license, using the Canada flag on the coins? So that the reason of multiple designs and the price? On the other, the flag wasn't depicted as the "Flag pictogramm" unlike this one... Except this, looks like it was commissioned

Just noticed that this one doesn't have the word "Canada" on it. Has there ever been a 'coin' issued without the country name?

But it impossible.....might be try to get the exact answer from you rep? I remember, recently, RM minted commemorative 50p coin without denomination. So I sent a query to the customer service. Their reply was something like: "Just like that. This is collectors and not circulation coin".

The penny in this set had no place of origin. 1998 (1908-) Proof Set - Special Limited Edition - 90th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Mint - Matte Issue

Right, SilverDon but this was RCM mistake / error. It treated differently, cause was part of the set and it replica coin. Here we have individual "no origin" edition.
