Using a new high speed 80 megapixel conveyor belt scanner. Interesting article on this:

This will be pretty cool when completed. I remember posting last year that the Smithsonian was looking for volunteers to help with this.

I'll try to help with some of the transcribing since I haven't got much else going on.

Edit: just saw and helped transcribe the info for a $500 proof national bank note. I think it's pretty cool.

Yes, I remember the transcription help, I did a few myself, then promptly forgot about it, will have to go back and do some more. It's a good way to learn about and see stuff I normally wouldn't see anyways, so a good thing to do and get some education while helping out the numismatic community.

I've poked around the site a bit... what section would I select to find numismatic or paper money selections to transcribe?

Looks like all the sections are now 100% transcribed, so there are no open numismatic projects at the moment available to work on. Who knows what might pop up in the future though.

This is the NNC transcription page https://transcription.si.edu/browse...wcompleted=1

Westcoin is correct that there are no open transcription jobs for the paper money. There should still be thousands of proof sheets to be digitized.

No worries. There are plenty of other things that need transcription - I'll just pick one or two that look interesting.

There are currently 2 transcriptions jobs up as of 6-12-2015 for Michigan proofs.

Box 1 is 69% complete

Box 2 is only 9% complete

I happened to check the site today to see if there were any.
