Just bought this pretty cheap and this is seller's pictures. There appears to be doubling on her neck and chin. Would any of you Capped Half folks please chime in? Also what do you think it would grade?

I'm no expert when it comes to Capped Bust Halves, but this is probably some weird Overton variety.

https://goccf.com/t/90884 Is similar to yours.

Thanks for pointing that thread out drew. It does indeed look very similar to that coin except mine doesn't have as much doubling on the nose as that one. It could be that my nose has been worn enough as to not display all that doubling.

It's the equivalent to Machine Doubling. Very common to 1820's bust halves.

Quite common indeed, but that's where the similarity to the other one ends as they're different varieties. That one was O-112, this one is O-116.

Drew, pretty much everyone who collects Busties collects them by Overton varieties. It's rather disrespectful to refer to the specialty of some of the hobby's most dedicated members (many of them your peers here) as "weird."

Double and triple profiling is quite common in these years. I have many of these - they are not weird.

I didn't call anyone in specific weird, nor did I call a group of people weird who specialize in Overton varieties.

I just said it's a weird Overton variety that I don't know of.

And it's only weird to me because I haven't done the research on overton varieties. That's it.

Sorry if anyone was offended.

They are not weird, I should have used better word choice.
