I'm thinking 0. Mind sharing the denomination?

I'm no Barber expert, but after looking at examples of possible dates it could be, it pretty definitively looks like a 1900.

It's a 1900, compare the loop of the 9 (2nd digit) to the last digit. If it was a 1908 I think we would have seen a smaller area similar to the second digit (the 9). I'm thinking FR-2 because there is too much detail on the obverse. The reverse is a PR-1 for certain.

Thats why I was leaning towards 0 but wanted opinions... Is there a lowball community with these like morgans?

I wish I could find a closeup on the date of a 1900 O Barber quarter on google, but it seems as if I can't. Oh well. Yes, I agree with all the above. It's definitely a 1900 O barber. You can compare it to the other 1900 O Barber quarters on google images; they have that slightly raised "0" in the date.

I dare say most of us Barber collectors collected well-worn examples early on. We had to. ANY LIBERTY showing was a rare treat. And full rim reverses - HAH! We don't have a community per se. We have a common experience. I see a 0 as well, and can almost see a trace of the bottom of the 0. Jake's reasoning is sound.

Quote: Is there a lowball community with these like morgans? PCGS actually has a Registry category for Lowball Barber halves. There are 4 sets listed, 2 seem serious and a third apparently in process. The best set of the bunch has 1900-O in G4, with only two graded lower. There are 8 different Morgan lowball categories, totaling well over a hundred individual sets (I'm ignoring the Mint Mark Set category which has 263 entries alone). Many of these sets will overlap, but you can see the difference. With this one, the first 9 proves the last digit isn't a 9, and an 8 would be noticeably pinched in the outside middle even at this level of wear. No chance for anything but a 0, so this would grade.

Nice, I guess I'll put it in the "sub eventually" pile. I'msure its an fr02 but hopefully it can go p01?

At P01, I don't want to see much left for lettering on the obverse. FR-02 is likely, though.
Hey, if you can find those one or two guys....
