I got this at my local coin shop. I noticed it looks kind of like a matte proof, under my loupe I see that the fields look slightly grainy, it looks to be struck very nice and it has similar luster to some matte proofs. There is probably less than a 99.99% chance this is NOT a proof. I just decided to post just to clarify. Proof or not IMHO it is still a beautiful coin :) Slightly grainy surface can not be seen in photos.

Lovely coin, but I think the rims prove conclusively it's a Business Strike.

I've seen that toning on LWC's before.

Nice looking coin.
I agree with SsuperDdave, the rims are not squared like a proof should be. And I too have seen wheats this color.

Business strike. I do like the color though. 1909-1919 LWCs from Philadelphia are usually if not always beautifully stuck, and this one is no exception.

Very nice strike. Not a matte proof though (rims not square).
BUT....would like to see a larger picture of the reverse as well.

I've seen the color frequently on Lincolns as well, but the hue here is rather oversaturated for me to easily accept it as natural and your image background says you got the color quite accurately. What chemical process imparts that sort of patina to copper? I sure as heck wouldn't kick it out of my collection, though, natural or not. It's pretty.
