I noticed what might be clash marks on a coin I picked up today:
1950-5c:-Some-Big-Clash-Marks

These may be clash marks.

You know, I think you might be right! These marks seem to follow the contours and branching of the log. And on the reverse, there's a line that appears to match the back of George's head. Thanks!

Clash marks are common for the 49's and 50's.

That makes sense, given the really high minting #s. I would be curious to know whether there was a shortage of 5c in circulation, because I suspect they melted a bunch of Ni coins during the war.

The way to determine if it is a clash, would be to make an overlay, and compare the details.

In this case I don't think it's too valuable, so I'll just leave it be.
