I might be wrong but it looks like MD or PMD dents. Have you checked RPM listings for 1940 S Jefferson?

I'm confused ...... niquel? I'm pretty sure that's Spanish for Nickel. I could be wrong but I don't know what's going on here. Am I missing something?

Somebody email me last night from the community that I had misspelled niquel on my last three posts, so I corrected it.

I Don't know what to say to that. But I'm pretty sure its Nickel based on the metal composition from the periodic table NI or nickel. Please anyone else chime in and tell me if I'm wrong or right cause if I'm wrong well IDK what I been doing all these years HAHAHA

Yeah I'm positive it's Nickel in English which is the same as what we are writing in the forums here. and the native language of America and we are talking about American coins. Niquel is Spanish for nickel so either he/she is confused or I been writing English in a Spanish forum and I'm confused

The planchets for nickels are 75% copper and 25% nickel. (the war years were different) The nickel was added to make it harder, but the dies paid the price because of die wear.
