I live in Texas and just started roll hunting for errors and varieties. I went through a box and found 7 of the 1970 s Lincoln cents. what should I be looking for with the small date? There are 4 of them that the 9 and the 0 looks different.

That is a large date. The inner loop of the nine points to the tail of the seven. Also, the top of the seven is below the nine and the zero.

The Large date the 7 sits lower then the rest of the other digits. The small date, the 7 will be level with the digits.. Kind of hard to tell but once you get it you can eyeball them.

Thank ya'll, it looks like all of mine are large date. They look different in the magnifying glass, but when I took a picture and examined it closely they are large date. Still very happy with all the S mint marks, quite a few 1969s, 1970s, 1971s, 1972s, 1973s, and one 1974.
Rest in Peace

It varies. Sometimes once a week, other times about every two days. But it helps all to learn that is what I use it for. I love it when members know now what to look for. So I think I'm making headway.
