CS1997 New Member United States 43 Posts	Posted 04/30/2015 12:17 pm I live in Texas and just started roll hunting for errors and varieties. I went through a box and found 7 of the 1970 s Lincoln cents. what should I be looking for with the small date? There are 4 of them that the 9 and the 0 looks different. eagle_eye_18 Valued Member United States 449 Posts	Posted 04/30/2015 12:19 pm That is a large date. The inner loop of the nine points to the tail of the seven. Also, the top of the seven is below the nine and the zero. Report this Post to the Staff
jdiablo30 Pillar of the Community United States 946 Posts	Posted 04/30/2015 12:31 pm The Large date the 7 sits lower then the rest of the other digits. The small date,the 7 will be level with the digits.. Kind of hard to tell but once you get it you can eyeball them. Report this Post to the Staff

They look different in the magnifying glass, but when I took a picture and examined it closely they are large date. Still very happy with all the S mint marks, quite a few 1969s, 1970s, 1971s, 1972s, 1973s, and one 1974. Report this Post to the Staff
