That is one of the more prominent clashes that I have seen. That "E" is fantastic!

It's one of the strongest clashes in the whole series, easily the strongest "E." Silly coin to see in person.

There are only 6 Uncirculated 1891 O VAM-1a though VAM-1a4 known. They are stupid wild to see in UNC. My set of the 4 are V-1a1 MS-63, V-1a2 AU-58, V-1a3 AU-55 and V-1a4 MS-63. The V-1a3 is the hardest to find in AU with only 3 known, 1 each in AU 50,53 and 55. The real PCGS population of this VAM in AU at AU-55 and above is 3 total of all types in AU-55 and 5 in AU58. The VAM 1a group is much like the 1888 O Scarface, you see them often in VG to XF grades but AU coins get harder. AU 55 coins start to become very difficult.

Knowing you, that just means a minor delay in putting together your grading set of them.

Just seeing that E almost makes all the eye squinting I used to do first thing on 87's for the 1b worth it. That sucker must be a dandy in hand

Cascade,
It knocked my socks off and it was a pleasure to photograph. I just processed those images last night so this might be the first time that coin has been shown off.

No need, because they're both nice enough to post these wonderful toys here.

Cascade, Are you kidding me? You really would need to be on the wall. My office is jammed with stacks of books (never mind trying to get to the my library shelves -- you'll trip getting there), boxes of junk coins, boxes of postage, coin supplies, shipping supplies, two printers, four scales, a rolling Craftsman tool box (for more supplies), an extra sterioscope in one corner, trays of die, a long office desk for my photography set up and one and one and on, aside from the normal desk, etc!

Yikes ken, I also would probably need to be the size of a fly as well But I bet you know exactly where 95% of any given thing is and that's what counts. If only we can index our lives like a Google search

Cascade, you are about right! Actually, I moved to this house in 2012 so I still have awhile to learn where everything is. Today, I went to get my screw driver bits for my drill. Not a good story. I had them on a table near the door to use today. Well, my wife moved them or should I say 'hid' them, so a job I started in the garage gets left half done. Bad topic! Someday, I may even get my tools together again too! You know I have at least three sets of screw driver bits! Can't find one set today.
