hello hope bill can help me here. the program that they are offering for tethering the Nikon camera with. they are saying that one can adjust the focus right on the computer. I don't understand bill how a person can do that. if every thing is set to manual. I watched there demonstration video. they adjust the focus with the mouse am I missing some thing. dave are we able to adjust focus on the canon with our mouse. if so how does one do that. that is my problem I find there is to much slack in the old bellows I purchased. if I touch anything the focus changes. I am trying to fix that problem. I find this program with the Nikon tethering to be quit different. hope bill can help

I think they're meaning you can watch the focus process on the computer while you're changing it at the camera. There's no way to change focus with your mouse when you're manually focusing. On a bellows, you move whatever's doing the focusing on the camera rig - lens focusing ring, focusing rail - and watch the process on your screen so it's large enough to help.
I have no idea what they were doing on the video.

I think you can focus while tethered if you have AF-S or other autofocus lens attached ie this lens (Nikon AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f2.8G IF-ED) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nikon-AF-S-...em35e9ec227fbut this lens costs more than an entire setup with a manual focus bellows

Yes, but for that all you do is click the shutter button onscreen. It autofocuses and snaps the shot on that one click. I've done it with a Canon 100mm Macro.

thanks dave you are both right. I watched there video again it is 40 minutes long. they also show one how to do stacking and bursts. I think this helps myself to understand a lot about these terms the member use here. the focus on the screen its apparently different filters to make the images tack sharp. the program itself does not look all that difficult. I will watch it again. I know this will help myself a lot. thank you all

I am going to purchase a copy I will let you know how it works. Nikon has told me the setting I would have to use to work a bellows and old manual focus lens. have a great day

That's quite a price difference. I wonder if it's some backchannel thing for Nikon owners?

I don't know dave. I contacted them about a Nikon d7100. I am going to try one for awhile. I have a chance to use this camera from a friend. I contacted them asking about what setting I had to use for a bellows. I also asked the person about old manual lenses. I told them I was new to Nikon camera . I asked about tethering and the person said I have a link please follow it and there is a great deal there. for this tethering software it has been reduced to clear. well I have purchased the software 29.99 hope it works maybe they thought I was buying a new Nikon I don't know. I watched the video that is there on this link. it show stacking oh there is so much stuff. how to run to monitors. oh yes it also has a program that allow the photo owner to encrypt there pictures. so if some one wants to use your photo they can but you will be identified as the owner. don't know if we need that but that part of it. anyway see how it goes

I love my D7100. It allows me to use AI, AIS, E, AF, G, and AF-S lenses so is super versatile. CCP2 works well with it.

question bill I was wondering if I get and adapter is there any problems with using the older Minolta lens. The people at Nikon told me to set the camera on manual or A mode. would this be correct. I have been doing some reading on this camera. it sound like quit the camera. what I have for a canon is a eos rebel t1i. I like this camera a lot. I brought a very cheap bellows. I have learned big mistake. so when I get ready to go again with photos. I will follow yours and dave lead. plus any other member that want to give me direction. I have been playing around out door with the canon getting use to it great camera. very easy to use have a great one.
