Half way through my bag of 5000 pennies and this one jumped out at me I'm not sure what it is. Possible strike error? Weighs 2.9g Thanks in advance

What is is weight. Normal or light? What is the diameter? Larger than a normal coin? The devices on the date look altered to me and the reverse rim is missing. So I'm thinking PSD.

Yeah, it got buffed or ground down. Maybe it spent sometime in a rock polisher...?

Quote: Maybe it spent sometime in a rock polisher...? I don't think so myself. The rims on the OBV are too sharp. I would think that it were a tumbler then both sides would be about the same. Maybe a buffing wheel but that doesn't sound correct either. Weak center devices on the OBV and sharper rim, and then a weak rim and sharper center device on the REV. Then look at the lower bust and the indent moving north towards the shoulder. Could be intentional but as Coop asked, can you give a weight and diameter? That could help. Also, just some advice, don't get into the habit of holding your coins like shown in your pictures. Hold them by the rims so as not to get finger prints on the coin. It can REALLY ruin a coin. The oils from your hands can etch a coin. Just a good habit to get into weather it be old and worn or brand spanking new.

So it is a little under. (3.1 grams is normal) So it was reduced some. Thanks for the update.

Tough call on this one. Better images would help.

Ya, I'd like to see the date and LIBERTY better. They look smeared but that can be normal for a filled die.
