I'm looking over this coin asking myself if this guy is crazy. What do you guys think of this coin? Do you think it's legit that this coin is real and he doesn't know what he has? I sent him an email to see if they were still available, so I can view in person. http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/clt/5013570166.html

Chances are slim and none, and Slim left town. You won't miss the fact that something that small is that heavy.

Yeah, I just needed a few people to slap me back into reality. Just one of those things I stumbled on while perusing and look at in disbelief wondering if this could be an awesome score. So are fakes normally this well faked? I was doing comparisons against better pics from the internet and counting rays, the amount of stars between objects and they were matching up.

Could be legit. And I mean COULD be. There was a story on some forum a few years ago about some bank teller handing a customer a "female" Presidential dollar and it turned out to be an Eagle. $10 face for the price of $1. Anything it possible.

Funny coins make otherwise rational people even funnier.

You will likely get yourself in more trouble investigating this coin than not. Everything about the ad screams no. A suspected antique dealer selling a well known gold coin for peanuts...

I think that's an oversized replica of some kind, probably brass. The relief looks wrong anyway.

If the deal is too good to be true, it probably is.

For $5? Get it, it is a cool novelty! But, if it is real...

Look at the scale of the tag. That coin is HUGE. It is a novelty medal.

Yeah, I didn't really pay attention to the size of the tag when compared against the ash tray and then the coin. Got really focused on trying to spot errors in the "coin". Thanks for all your input. Sure is nice having a place to get second opinions.
