Wow, first rate, sometimes things just go awry and fall to the wayside.

I have done A LOT of business with MCM and they have always been top notch. With that said the new change of ownership will have to be proven before that prior reputation is continued.
I know John Maben has stayed on with his former company.

MCM stinks as shipping and processing... I ordered a silver eagle everyday for over a month, expecting one a day arrival in my mail box on the weekdays, everyday after work I would purchase it. It all came but not what I expected, a few one day, then a break, then one, etc...
edited to remove unacceptable language, even if you abbreviated it we all know what the word was. This is your first and only warning. Keep the language clean-echizento

iamwayne, you do realize that if you ship something one per day, the post office won't necessarily deliver them one per day? In fact, the ones shipped later can arrive earlier. That's not at all a reflection on the shipper. BTW, you'll notice that most sellers of bullion require a $100 minimum for free shipping, but MCM doesn't. Ordering once per day for no particular reason only drives up their shipping costs which they ultimately have to pass along.

Quote: I ordered a silver eagle everyday for over a month If I had a company that provided free shipping and my order department noticed a trend of a person ordering one of the same item everyday for three consecutive days I would be on the phone asking that customer exactly how many of that item he/she wanted. I would then tell him/her that they could still place an order everyday but the orders would be combined into one shipment or that person would have to pay shipping for each item if they insisted on having one shipped each day.

Exactly...no clue what would make someone order the same product over multiple days but I am sure in their mind their was a reason....just not obvious to the rest of the world ordering a single ASE every day for "over a month" is just weird...(my opinion). MCM has always been stellar in all my orders...

What a great fun thing to do, ordering one per day...I like it. ...but to expect lock-step shipping and delivery, one per day, is a bit much. And they tell me I'm high maintainence you got me beat on that one bro'. All in good fun though tango on.

I wanted to open up a package every day with a silver eagle. ebay tracking has them shipped randomly. I know USPS will deliver different dates but shipping from MCM was a mess. I wanted to convert part of my daily wage to silver like how it would be back in the very old days. Everyday during lunch I would orde a coin. First half of days wage in silver and the second half regular fiat. Example would be like December 10th order was fulfilled and shipped before December 8th. MCM doesn't do orders in numerical order sometimes. Some days they will ship out 3 at once and then nothing for a few... Goes on for a bit... For MCM and those companies, all shipping expenses are itemized... They do not lose money from it.

Nope THEY don't lose money on shipping...but...you do
You paid an average of $8 over December 2013 spot for your coins by ordering them singularly..order a roll of 20 (from MCM) and you will pay just under $3/coin over spot (occasionally less)....your plan for daily mail cost you $100 more per 20...5 bucks + more per coin definitely does cover that shipping

The idea makes a certain amount of sense, but as stated by foxwoods, your means of carrying out this idea has cost you a lot of unnecessary expense.

It's easy to say that when you know what spot price is for the time since it has passed. I'm buying at "today's/past" price each day. I can wait for 20days then buy a roll for the savings but that wasn't the point. Heck I can get run over by a drunk driver on day 11 and never had the chance to buy if I wanted to wait till I accumulated enough for a roll of 20, or I had 11 ounces before I died.
Reverse the price logic, instead it rises every day. That mean I would lose by waiting to purchase a roll in that case.
I can go to my LCS and purchase for $4-5 over spot and pay gas and have the risk of accidents and such or I can just not have the risk and have it shipped?
My goal is to purchase an silver eagle every current/present day with my daily wage. Your logic of purchasing something in the future doesn't make sense for current day purchase... If I said I wanted to save before I purchase, then ok, that makes sense but that isn't purchaeing one each day.
Remember gas cost and premium over spot for each silver eagle daily at LCS or just get it shipped with no risk of accidents, traffic, etc...

iamwayne, if you're so concerned about getting in to a traffic accident that you avoid driving, then the risk involved in bullion is too much for you. Dollar cost averaging is good, but not when you're paying such a high premium to do it.

I get what you're trying to do but the extra unnecessary expense meant that you lost several ASEs. Wouldn't it been easier to ask your employer to pay your wages in ASEs? Back in the heady days in the early '90s when Ag was $4-$5/oz, I would skip lunch from time to time and that money would go into a kitty to buy silver. When I had accumulated enough for half a roll off I'd go to to LCS to buy them for $7.50 each... Good times, to each his own stacking method.

Gas is around $3-4 per gallon back then plus eagle premium = same as shipping it I guess you guys don't count the gas money per gallon and time in traffic and distance as part of the cost. Spot price + premium + gas and time travel cost.... $20+$3-4 premium+$3-6 gas and time round trip? It is illegal to be paid in ASE, see the guy that got sued and in prison for paying in AGE. how do I buy something that is at 2013 prices for 1990s prices?
