I am gonna say MS-63 Red. I don't think those small spots at the bottom of the bust are enough to make it RB, but you never know. Hurry and get it slabbed red before those spots spread and move it to RB ! Very nice looking Lincoln Sleaklight.

You know you're asking the most difficult question there is about Lincoln cents when photographed? LOL There's more controversy in these forums over the red designation than anything else. My first suggestion in getting an accurate opinion, use a pure white background. Not only does that allow you set the correct white balance on your camera, it serves as a point of reference for anyone viewing the pictures. Look at my 1909 thread! LOL I know a bit about Lincolns and that coin is as red as they come, yet, the pics apparently seem to indicate some brown to it.

The best way to judge the coins for color is by having a reference set . Its only three coins in size Unless you want to do a shade reference set like mine ! then its a little bigger

Pictures are not the best to judge color ,, artifacts from the camera, sizing, lighting, can all change the appearance of the coin in a photo.

Hello

Nice coin by the way.
Looks red to me. Nice tone.
Familiar with coin grading but
not so much on the Lincoln Cent.
Seems they tend to grade those high today.
Any thoughts on that ?

Rest in Peace

Funny that you mention getting a coin under glass before "Red" turns to R&B. I had an MS63 Red 1931-s Lincoln that I had slabbed by ANACS that about 3 years later would surely have only earned an R&B designation! Slabbing can slow or prevent the change but I assure you that is not always the case. Mike
