After a little searching ..and being to lazy to keep searching I figured I could get info faster and have some fun too. I would like a picture of a "Long Nock" Morgan dollar, and a picture of a regular one to compare it to. The first person that post these pics will get a Christmas coin from me. I will send the first person that posts these two pics here a Walking Liberty half dollar . The date is posters choice...but I am not giving away my key dates . If you collect something else maybe we can figure something else out. And remember...the later the date..the better the condition. ready...set.....GO

Yes Rick , you did win ! Got a Walker date in mind ? or would you prefer something else ? We can discuss it here, and when we are done you can shoot me an e-mail with your address and I will send it out. Thanks for the pics - they are exactly what I need. Merry Christmas to All !

Aww..... Shucks! I mean.... COOL! I mean, I'm pleased that these were the pics you were looking for! And, I'm happy to provide them without a donation.... But, seeing as how it was a Contest..... and, I don't have a Walker (nope, not a single one), I'd be happy with whatever you are willing to part with! Or, you could just pick one and drop it in your nearest Salvation Army bucket if you're so inclined.... a Xmas gift from both of us! But, then I still won't have a single Walker..... How's this for a non-commital reply? Tell ya' what.... Let's let the forum decide! A. Should I take the Walker? or, B. Should we give it away for Xmas?... Feeling wishy-washy (but getting into the Xmas spirit), Rick

Thanks for the link Bryan, I started my search here of course :) I guess I got lazy before I found a thread with pictures. I guess now my question is- On the examples I have seen so far, the shaft is longer and seems to have a misshapen quality to the actual elongated section. Looks like a die chip, gouge, or something made this that way. Is this in the design , or is it more of an accident ?

it is in the design, all 7/8 and 8TF Morgans have this long arrow shaft, when they switched to the 7TF versions they didn't change the nock on the first coins and that is the ones they call B1 reverse because of that long nock

Thanks again for the link and now the info ! I have collected Morgans here and there since I started collecting....many years ago ;) I got hooked on the VAM's after purchasing a nice AU 1884-P for 16 bucks about a month ago, and after looking more closely discovered it was a VAM 3 Large dot...and the hunt was on ! VAMworld is a great site , but it does lack pictures for some. I spend alot of my free time (being single has its advantages I guess ) with my coins, adding these searches for VAMS is stretching it more. This site has helped me immeasurably thus far in research time , information here tends to be to the point and very accurate...and plenty of pictures ! I tell anyone that collects and will listen about this site. Keep up the great work and I hope You and the staff here have a great Holiday Season !
