this is from the same group as the V nickel 15 indian head coins in all but 4 are pretty damaged but of the 4 1 is in better shape and 1 of the other 11 is the oldest of the bunch pretty worn from 1865.

Not a bad little group there--it's a shame about the damaged ones, but no use in fretting over things that can't be undone.

The 1886 is a Type 2 since the feather points between the C and A of America. 1886 also comes as a Type 1 where the last feather points between the I and C of America

I can make out '88' in the extremely damaged coin in the bottom pic, and possibly another 8. Is it an 1888?

Nice group of Indian Head cents.

If I was picking from that group, I would
pick the 1886 Ty 2.

The Dansco albums require both the type 1 and 2.
Seems like finding a ty 2 was harder for me.

Numisma the extremely damaged one is a 1884 took me a while to figure that one out. But it is interesting to find out my 86 is a subtype redesign and looking at the pictures I can see what you mean about the last feathers and where they point. Of the damaged indian heads only the 1891 and 1899 are better condition but detail wise the 1899 has those beat. As for the 1865 it is in bad shape but it is what it is a 150 year old coin and now I can say I held a piece of history in my hand.

What grade would the 1904 and 1883 indian heads get?

1904: VF-range

1883: F-12

I am not the most proficient at grading Indian Head cents.

1904 looks XF-40 to XF-45.
The first 1883 is in the VF range.

I think it is very possible that the 88 shown third-from-last could be the 88/7 - the date position seems good. A close-up of the last digit would confirm.
