Hi All,

This is my first post. I am 30 years old and have been collecting coins on and off since I was about 7. I used to be interested in all world coins but in recent years I have narrowed down my collecting to mainly coins of England, or British Empire coins. Most of my coins are ebay purchases now as opposed to shops, which are getting less and less common.

Collecting wise, I try and acquire the best example of a coin I can afford. I am mainly focussed on collecting a nice example of each shilling with a different king/queen, and same again for the half crowns, among other denominations. Its abit slow going and costly (to me!). But this way it keeps my collection limited in size and they all fit nicely into a coin album.

For years I have used the coin album from WH Smiths. Online it has quite poor reviews, and the sheets are slightly frosted which many complain about, but the way its designed means all coins are safe and none can fall out. One person once said they would never put a coin of value into an album like this, but I have, and have never had issues....although I am very careful with the album anyway. (Anyone else use this album?).

Best wishes,

TimeTravelMoney

Hey TimetravelMoney!

Welcome to our forum. Once you get up to 50 posts you can buy and trade on here. I am sure some Canadian posters would be happy to help you get a nice Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Dominion of Canada piece.

AS for albulms I use two by twos and boxes for now. You should ask about that in the supplies sub forum, it will get more traffic there.

Have a happy Victoria Day tomorrow.
