Ok this is a bit far stretch but I mainly do some buying and selling coins on ebay. Only reason why I posted it in here is because this is where I am.

Today I received a pack of 5 500gram satchel which I thought was really thoughtful for them. Sure, I'm sure many would have a lot of complains about ebay fees etc but this came as a pleasant surprise. It's not a lot of money but it's the thought that counts.

Would you happen to receive one? You might have one coming in your way.

Hi yes they have been sending these out to some sellers who have been not listing or cut back on listing on there site according to the ebay community forums.

Its a promotional thing they are doing , I guess because they have lost a lot of business od late.

I believe you still have to pay the fee to post them its a bit of a scam to get people ( ebay sellers) to use ebay satchels instead of Australia post ones that way they get a cut of the post on top of there 10% they already charge the seller for postage. You can read all about it on there forums. Bit of a scam but a use full one for some I guess.

No it is not free!

ebay is trying to lock in your store, into using ebay's mailing system.

In the US it has gone further than here in OZ. US ebay mailing goes to an ebay mailing center that is a long unpleasant experience for the buyer and seller. Is this ebay sales pitch to get the "item not received case" back into the sellers favor as sucker bait?

Once your locked into their mailing system cost tend to have all the bells & whistles attached, and they tell you the cost of course.

ebay tells you how much and what sort of mailing you give your buyers. If you try to buck the system they will stone wall you.

Once you sign onto their mailing system and you try to stop it you get stone walled as well.

Even if I have it 1/2 right be very careful of ebay's free anything!

I have just started a 2nd store and they pushed their mailing angle full on. No way for me. ebay sent sugar coated emails that hide the truth about what you are really getting involved in.

I would be sending their mailing stuff back to them.

Everything ebay does is all about profit. They are not being the good guys. They never have been and they never will be.

Don't ever kid yourself. ebay does everything for profit. They loose 1 Cent, they will make it up somewhere.
