Just interested.

Have you heard of anyone finding their phone number on a note?

All The Best.

Obviously I'm talking about Canadian notes here, but when I've seen a serial number that happens to be a local phone number, I've thought about phoning it to see if the owner of the phone number would want to purchase the note. Never was brave enough to try it though.

No - in the state I live the phone numbers seem to start with 3, 4 or 5 and the vast majority of notes have serial numbers starting with 9 or 0 (I think the early ones had all digits but they are pretty much never seen in circulation any more).

My mother (bless her, she would be over 100 years old if still alive), used to look for strange family names in the
hatch, match and despatch columns of the newspaper.

She found a Mr Montague in the death columns, and this word appears on the old blue paper Australian Ten Dollar note, in a poem written by Henry Lawson.

There are not enough digit positions to get the whole of my local land line phone number onto the current Australian banknote series.
