Not wanting to hi-jack another thread.

So I started one, hoping to have a discussion on these
albums.

I has been posted that keeping Silver Eagles in these
albums can cause them to tone.

I am curious if those that have them are storing the
any special way. And how long did it take, to start seeing
the coins toning.

Just put a few coins in for now.

You don't happen to have another empty with a late 90s/early 2000s date do you GR? I'd rather get a dated one and ad the newer pages than buy a new one on ebay just in case the newer ones are different

I help out at two coin shops, friends with two others.

With time I see most of the common stuff go through.

I think these are pretty standard on how they are dated.

This album is has three pages
page one 1986 - 1994
page two 1995 - 2003
page three only has date 2004, 2005 and 2006
rest are blank.

I would think newer albums are going to have newer dates.

Cascade,
If I know exactly what you are looking for, I can keep a eye
out for them.

I have had a Littleton Silver Eagle album for almost 15 years now. Quite a few of them have developed vivid cobalt and violet rim toning while others have only developed a light golden tone or remain completely untoned. No special storage, just a dresser drawer that does not appear to tone any other 90% silver coins.

Interesting. I was going to say that environment probably has more to do with it than the album, but Bio presents compelling information.

Whoa, I think I stumbled on something here!

GR, I'm talking about the date on the inside front cover saying 1998 or there abouts. I know I would need to add more pages for post 98 but the late 90s are pretty much proven to tone em. Hopefully newer ones too but in 10+yrs I want as close to a guarantee of wonderful toning as I can get

Cascade ... it could be me, not understanding what you were
meaning.

The date on inside of cover of mine is 1998.

I can watch for others in the 90's and let you know.

Great thanks, morgan one too

Did I explain it well? I would just rather have one made then instead of now also, just to be technical but isn't this technically NOT archival quality lol

Sometimes ... Things happen fast.

I am holding a two album Morgan set. One album has a date
1999-00, the other album has date 1998.

I think ... all the pages would not fit very well in
one album.

I don't like my Littleton album. The slides seemed difficult to align right, the slots were too tight and the 3-ring binder thing makes pages difficult to turn and the album odd shaped for shelf storage.

Much better alternatives from Dansco and Whitman, etc.

Surprised that anyone with this much info on coins would ever use anything from Littleton.

Just to be clear.

The discussion this thread is having, is how these albums
are known to cause some coins to tone, more than other albums.
