I'd say around 48 cents....hey it is missing some metal it can't be worth the full face value!!
Sorry ME_CO, I don't know much about error coin values. Nice find though, I'd keep it too.

Thanks for the reply Sleaklight. I haven't never sold on ebay and really don't care to learn. <edit> I set up the tripod and think I got a clearer pic- coins are hard to shoot for an amatuer like ME haha. Actually bman there's only 9 1/2 cents worth of metal in a full clad half. Here's pics front and back. HH all, Mark

I have no doubt that it is a genuine doubled clip Kennedy. I can't price it though. I havent had enough experience with Kennedy double clips.
Great coin !

Hi Bill, Nice site you have there. That is of course where I found it- a full half of a $500 box was brand now 99D's, very disheartening when hunting silver but was an easy search. Silver has been scarce lately- think all our dumps went back to the fed enmass and we are now wading through them. Had one good box last night which gives ME hope for todays boxes. HH all, Mark

I believe authentication by a TPG would significantly add to the value if you plan to sell on ebay.

I dont think slabbing this coin would help it's value, It would only take away from the value. There is no doubt that it is genuine. Any good "error" person will know it.
If it's worth fifty, (just an example) there's no point in paying 20 or 30 bucks just to find out that it is what it is:-)
Also, I am getting emails like crazy from folks finding silver in boxes of halves. If you get a solid box like that, you look for the errors. I have been hitting silver and many other folks have been also.
PS: Thank you for your kind comment on my site:-)

Slabbing was not even a thought- figured it would be cost prohibitive. Last night I got ME first Barber- I been poundin the halves pretty hard since July and the longer I hunt the more efficient I get= more hunting/ same effort. I have had some awesome finds, if I can find that thread on CRH I'll add some there but here is a pic of the barber, she ain't BU but she had an active 110 years LOL. BTW I searched 16 boxes this week with $2000, sure was a busy week. HH Mark
