I'm looking for reasonably priced coin holder suppliers in Canada if possible (due to shipping costs & unbelievable exchange rate). I recently ordered cardboard flips from an ebay Canadian supplier but rec'd holders that are of a less-stiff cardboard, off-center holes, plastic not tight (coins spin & move around after stapling). I didn't pay much but that's not the point. I bought from within Canada to encourage Canadian business but received 2nd grade merchandise probably outsourced from China.... Seller gives refunds but suggests I am the problem because of no neg fb & over 3,000,000 sold, so everyone else can't be wrong... ho hum. I've included photos of a newly received & old school holder side by side. Am I being too much of a complainer? Am I asking too much and should make due? I only need about 700 and they should last me a while but I don't want to pay $50+ cdn to have a lousy 700 quality holders like they used to make.

Those ones are the older kind but your not a complainer, if you want the good ones (and also smaller as well) then just go to the biggest coin store in your city and they will most likely have`em. Those kind should be on ebay but I'm not sure. The ones that are more common that I'm taking about are those smaller ones, they are also more reliable. I don't think its good for a coin for it to slide around in a capsule for a matter of years.

I've done well with Collectors' Supply House by mail. I notice they've recently raised their minimum purchase for free shipping. http://www.collectorssupplyhouse.com/Pretty certain I know the 2x2s you're speaking of - they come in the red boxes? I wasn't impressed with the quality either.

I like gatewest.... I don't know if their shipping charges are decent or not as they're in my city so I just pick 'em up... If you can't find anything else around that you like send me a PM and I could find out how much it would cost for me to ship some to you myself.

Thanks guys for the replies, that's a great start. I'll check em all out.
Normic67 - I tried to contact I believe 3 of the biggest known in Montreal and their tel number and addresses have changed and I can't find anything more on them. Internet searches come up dead ends.
AgCoinAu - thanks for the offer, very nice of you. If I really can't get what I want, last resort I'll bother you but I hope & should be able to find something here.

I usually just stock up from Colonial Acres whenever we have an order of coins coming in so the shipping is cheaper. Even if the order is through ebay they're happy to add supplies that they have that aren't listed on ebay (they only list the most demanded ones due to the fees) to the order. Check http://www.colonialacres.com/catego...in-supplies. I'm partial to the self-adhesive 2x2s as they're good quality and look nicer without the staples plus having more white space available for notes. But they are more expensive.

I recommend either Colonial Acres or Canadian Coin & Currency. Both have good quality and a variety of supplies and websites that make ordering simple. Often they have sales on select coins for sale that interest me, which are usually cheaper than ebay. Orders above a certain amount are shipped free, otherwise the coat of shipping is still less compared to US/exchange rates. Once or twice when Colonial Acres has made a small error in my order, for example stapled 2x2s instead of self-adhesive, they've immediately sent me the proper type without requesting an exchange. Cdn C&C charge more for shipping than Col Acres, but ship extremely quickly. I'm totally satisfied with both.
