"MIAMI -- A gold bar stolen in a $5 million armored truck robbery in North Carolina has been recovered by the FBI in South Florida, and authorities suspect a strong Miami-area connection.

The FBI on Monday released a photo of the 26-pound gold bar, worth up to $500,000

In all, the robbers stole 275 pounds of gold worth nearly $5 million from the truck, bound for Boston from Miami"

I live pretty close to where this truck was robbed in NC. It was all over the news for a few days and then you heard nothing about it. There are lots of things that have not added up since this happened in my opinion.

From the "nibble" marks looks like when they tried to sell it off someone filed the edges to see if it was plated or not...

Only found one bar?

If this was a well orchestrated heist by professionals why not drop on crumb in South FL to throw the authorities off your trail which is the farthest place away from the West Coast where it could have already been melted down or gone North or South of the border by now.

At least that is how they do it int he movies
