OK, so I've been debating this for a while. This coin is one of the nicest Seated coins in my collection (and also my avatar) and it's very hard to part with it..... but, I have decided that I'm gonnah sell it to make room for some nicer Canadian coins I've been looking to buy. My question here is, what would be a fair price if I'm to sell it on ebay. I don't really want to do the whole "99 cent, no reserve" fiasco. I'm not a well enough known seller to take that chance, I clear maybe $2000 per year on ebay, and that's just me selling my duplicates or coins I get tired of. So it's gonnah end up being Buy-it-now or Best Offer. I've had good success with these type of listing this past year. I bought the coin back in 2013, a little birthday gift to myself. I thought of having it certified many times, but it just didn't end up happening (There are no dealers close to me who submit to PCGS or NGC on behalf of customers). I'm thinking it would grade around 63, perhaps with a "star" designation for the toning. The coin itself isn't worth so much, but the toning along with it being a carson city should garner some attention from collectors who specifically look for this sort of stuff. Coin goes up on ebay tomorrow at 5PM MST. So what do you guys think I should have it priced at? Or maybe I should sell something else instead and have this certified first, and just hold on to it? I'd try to get it into a TPG holder before selling but if that's out of the question then do the B-I-N or Best Offer. What is the coin worth to you? Add 20% to that number as the B-I-N price. If you serious about selling it raw then also have a bottom dollar price you'd accept. You could start off with a $499 B-I-N and $250 bottom dollar for example. Good Luck!

You're going to get pounded if you try to sell that coin raw. Frankly, it needs to be in a bespoke coin auction, not on ebay.

Send it to Great Collections. They will handle the grading and selling for you.

I use BIN/Make-an-Offer all the time to sell on ebay......I would start this coin at $600 OBO...and be willing to take $500. I would automatically accept $550 or above.....and automatically decline $400 and below....all of those settings can be done within ebay listing. I would even offer to ship International (use ebay Global Shipping program....it's a rock solid shipping program that only requires you to get it to the US Shipping center, you are not responsible for it after that). What's there to lose by putting it on ebay? Even if it doesn't sell, you're only out like 25c for listing fees (possibly less).

I would definitely get it certified first- With color like that, selling it on ebay most buyer's first thoughts will be that it's raw because it got 'questionable color' from the TPGs

Get it graded and then sell it here. If it grades MS63 I'd very likely be a buyer No sense in paying any fees if you can sell it here.

By all means, have it graded by PCGS or NCG. Any near-by reputable coin dealeer will submit it for you.

She's a beauty, for sure. But I'd want it TPG'd if I couldn't see it in hand before considering a purchase.

I'm with jdmern. When I see any raw coin on ebay worth $250+, I presume it's raw because it didn't grade. If the pictures look great and I'm willing to take the gamble anyways, I expect to pay 2-3 grades down from the nominal grade. So if I were you, I'd get it slabbed. ANACS doesn't require membership, and the costs are moderate. It won't bring quite top dollar compared to NGC or PCGS, but it will definitely be worth the investment compared to selling raw.

If you want to get a premium price for the color I would recommend submitting as well

PCGS it without a doubt. Forget ebay. Your going to not see it's full potential if you go that route..trust me.

It's a beautiful coin with its bulls-eye toning. Might as well send it to PCGS for the acid test. I wouldn't hesitate. Submit it through the largest dealer near you.
