Jsalgado Valued Member Portugal 179 Posts	Posted 07/26/2008 7:27 pm This piece it is listed in "Fichas da Madeira" (Madeira Island's Tokens) by Carlos Pascoal 1988.This details were published in The Almanach of Madeirense souvenirs, for the year of 1908 published an intitled article Madeirenses Tokens, written for our Dr. patrician Carlos Da Silva Oak, employee of the Customs of Lisbon, that with the licenced had one we go to transcribe, being this the work more complete than on the subject we know:...."21-1896-D. Erminio Pojal, - 1 token in vermeil without indication of value, circulating with the one of 500 rs; 1 of 100 rs. in nikel; 1 of 100 rs. in vermeil; 1 without indication of value in aluminum, circulating for 3$600 rs..." The name D.Erminio Pojal (maybe Dom Erminio Pojal spanish name)never appear in Anuário Comercial de Portugal, "Octubre" is a spanish word for October and different of Outubro in portuguese language.It is not clear this attribuition.JSalgado Report this Post to the Staff
