can anyone tell me what's up with this quarter not only is it black and reddish I also found some weird damage. in the picture with the nose and the mouth there is a nother imprint of the nose and the line of the mouth on the quarter towards the left edge.

I don't see the imprint of the extra nose and mouth but from what I do see I feel certain that this poor coin got dragged around some parking lot for awhile.

Cool fine, but isn't worth any more than 25 cents. It did spark enough interest to get you to a coin forum where you can learn which coins are valuable. Stick around and it won't be long until you're hooked like the rest of us!

I agree; metal detector find. I've noticed that clad coins turn bright red, then black, the longer they're buried.
