Do you think this auction was for real? I see that it is a real doubled die. He sold another one that was Strike Doubling for $1000.00, but this one was a real 1969-S doubled die.

He has 0 feedback, but that could be because he realized what he did and quit ebay!

Wow! That's a doubled die alright, look at the whole picture. A steal @ $900, worth many times more then the winning price.

The date photo was taken from The Lincoln Cent Resource. I can't find where he got the full photos from but I think it might be from a TPG website by the photo style.

All I can say is thank god for the ebay policy of:

' ebay Money Back Guarantee' that still remains firmly in effect for most auctions even though a seller may state, 'seller does not offer returns'.

It's amazing how many ebay buyers are unaware that even if a seller states 'seller does not offer returns' any item can indeed be returned if the item turns out to be 'not as described' or counterfeit etc.

Oh, I forgot to comment on who would be dumb enough to even consider purchasing such a high profile DDO LHC from an ebay seller with 0 feedback: simply and most probably an inevitable waste of time stemming from the eventuality of dealing with returns process.

It looks like the full photos came from PCGS coin facts page.

Looks like the image used is the same as on koinpro's website. Note the same damage on his image and Ken's is the same:
1969-S-Doubled-Die
Note the coin contact on the upper left of date, lower right of date, SW of 1 is all the same. So this is an edited version of that image. The finger print doesn't show on both images or the marks I mentioned. Also the verdigris does show on the 9 on the date on both date images.

Yes, his image of the date is from the Tremonti specimen that sold for $126,500 in a Heritage Auction (I think Jan 2007).

But the photo is not mine. I sure what have liked to have got that for $900! I offered $100,000 for it in 2006.

But I think we all know that this rip-off never delivered the actual doubled die.

BTW, Here is the PCGS Photo

If he had to steal photos, do you think he actually had the coin? ebay has become the scammer's biggest tool.

Even worse, he stole photos of two different coins!
