I'm Sky, and working in a liquor store I've come across a LOT of interesting coins (and bills). Honestly, it was just something to pass the time! But now my miscellaneous casual collection has grown! Once I get a chance, I'll gladly share pictures of the ones I have so far... Today I have come across 50 Centimos and a 1939 Canadian nickel - two more to add to the collection.  |

Thanks! I sure do... I can see how some coins are mistakened for quarters, or nickels. Some however just proved how desperate for a drink some are (Canadian dollar bill, old Canadian 20 dollar bill...). I also have quite a few US States quarters!

to CCF! Keep on doing what your doing, because of you those coins you have taken out of circulation are out of harms way and will not be getting melted by the ARP, or left on the road or anything that would harm them. Keep them safe, treat them right and enjoy the hobby!  Also, I am curious as to what you have acquired.

 One of my best friends also works in a state store and has the same experience. He is always finding older and silver coins. I think people tend to raid old coin collections sometimes when want money for drinks.

  This is what I've had to use. I'll be looking for binder sleeves, to keep them more... Organized. I didn't expect to have so many in a year! Coin collecting is obsolete here in town (and area) so I'll have to make a trip to one of the major cities for that.

 The two (of three) newest to my collection. Once I have my laptop, I'll be able to upload better pictures... Driving me nuts not having it! I'll be reading on the tips for taking pictures as well. * Oh! How do you guys clean coins? Some are dirty from being in circulation... As you can see!

I wripped this from my post in another thread...to clean coins use acetone. If you clean coins the wrong way it will ruin not only the coins but also there value as well. Acetone is what we would consider the (right) way, just be gentle when using it with the coins.

Haha thanks. I just want to remove debris, like the dirt on the nickel. I figured out of the many wrong ways to clean a coin, there had to be a right one.
