Just a quick question for those of you who focus on type collecting.

Do you have significant overlap in your collections? Such as having a " Jefferson nickel type set", then having a separate Jefferson as part of a "nickel type set"?

I think I am focusing on displaying collections and, possibly, discounting other options.

Yes. For me this is unavoidable with the Dansco albums that I have decided to fill.

What is your goal?

I have not decided on a short - mid term goal yet beyond doing an UNC statehood set with my daughter. That is why I am so random right now with my questions. LOL

My long term goals are Whitman 20th century type set(AU+)for the kids and niece, Dansco 7070 and US Admin of the Phillipines (AU+)for myself.

Short term is somewhat more challenging. I am not real comfortable buy expensive coins over the interwebs. That leaves me with certified coins, type sets, and smaller/themed sets.

I think I will work on year sets for every country/year I have ever visited as a side project.

If you want a shorter, easier, relatively inexpensive set, you cannot go wrong with Eisenhower dollars. It is only 32 coins for the full set (34 if you want all three 1972 varieties) and only 21 coins if you forgo the proofs.

Obviously I admit bias.

I think this side project idea is a good one.
