Onto my second roll. Here is my first example of a double "953". Also note the hanging "3". I've noticed that if there has been doubling on the date, it is always accompanied by a hanging "3". This is a close up on the date and a close up on coin. I've also noted that the straight NSF coins showing no variety are much more toned than the coins showing varieties. Not sure why.

Very nice! Regarding your last picture of the Reverse, is there doubling on the right leaf, and "Canada" as well, or are they just shadows?

Wow, that's some good luck! I'm afraid you may have to explain what NSF and SF stand for, though.

No Shoulder Fold and Shoulder Fold.
Some use No Shoulder Strap (NSS) and Shoulder Strap (SS)as well.

NSF was a high relief design originally used for the obverse, after they noticed problems with the high relief(NSF) they modified it which created the SF(low relief) they are called this because the modified design showed a fold on the queens shoulder while the original design(NSF) did not have a fold on the shoulder.
NSF-no shoulder fold
SF- shoulder fold

Gorgeous coins, AgHoarder! You have some nice errors in there. And nice photos, too. You've taken some great pictures of those early queen clashes.

dont open all the rolls yet , when I aquired my hoard of 1979 rolls I quickly found out I was getting alot more for an un-opened roll than the open ones, at first I averaged $50 - $80 USD per roll and eventually now that I have flooded the market I still average $20 per roll a year later

I'm really interested in preserving these coins as best I can and I would really appreciate some advice on that matter before I get too deep into this. I would say offhand that 90% of the coins I've seen are MS with some really high MS examples as well. The other 10% either have a 50 year old fingerprint on them or they have verdigris. Can anyone with experience in caring for copper coins offer some advice on preservation and also safe removal of verdigris? Thanks.

Great find! The hours of enjoyment I'd get out of searching through 39 rolls is worth $100. Looking forward to reading your updates on these rolls. (I got a good chuckle out of your Mom's husband trying to sell you his pocket change for 5 times the value lol.)

The coins with finger prints; try dipping them in acetone. the verdigris can be taken care of with Verdi-care. If you are not familiar with these ,look up previous threads on coin cleaning. good luck.
