We are going on vacation to Nova Scotia in a few days and was wondering if I will be missing out on anything if I did not take coins to buy, sell, or trade.
For example: Do ASE's have a higher value in Canada and I might trade these one for one for Silver Maple Leafs?
I have two 1oz. Gold maples I need to sell to help pay for the trip, would I get a better price there?
Any other coins that have a higher value in Canada for trading?

And, how is the best way to trade, buy, sell coins there?
Thank you for any and all your help.
Paul.

I'll leave it to someone more knowledgeable in bullion to answer your questions, but have fun in my home province! Citadel Coins in Halifax is a nice shop to visit.

What happened to that thread?

In the previous thread I also answered...

But to answer your question.... the biggest advantage to exchanging bullion for cash especially in foreign countries is that you can easily avoid the exchange rate fees. I would suggest you find a reputable dealer and find out how much they pay for silver and gold. Perhaps contact lighthouse coins or citadel coins and see their rates.

The other thing where you can get a good rate is ... look at your local coin dealers and see if they have any canadian coin or notes.. sometimes they will sell them below face value... now with the current exchange anything below 80% is a good deal for you!
