Dark patina on lightly rough surfaces. Moderate wear and tear with small scratch on reverse, which is rotated a bit.

Yes, VG-10 is correct. Nice-looking example.

F-12 for me.. Is it a rotated die?

Nice example of the Sheldon S-289 die marriage which is an R.1. Unfortunately corrosion makes this coin what we in the EAC call "scudzy". I'm willing to grade it VG-10 sharpness but I will have to net grade it to EAC 6-. The minus denotes that I think it's a problem coin. The Classic Head series is extremely difficult to collect because of condition issues like this. They just used very poor copper. 1812 S-289 R.1 10/6-

VG details as a TPG grade. Good EAC net grade. Nice coin. I have a few classic heads in similar shape. Yours has a nice eye appeal despite its detraction's.

VG details, still a tough date. I don't have one.

I grade this coin VG10, possibly F12 for details, but would net it down a few points due to what appears to be scattered environmental damage. Overall a nice coin with decent appearance in a tough series.
