Thought so but isn't this a proof. Is MD on a proof collectible?

Note when you look at the tail of the 9? Note how the upper curve is reduced in overall size. A sure sign of MD.

Proof is a type of coin, not a condition. The San Fransisco mint produces Proof coins, but they used to produce business strikes also. I think the last S mint business strike cents were in 1974.

West Point also produces Proof coins, they have a W mint mark.
The San Fransisco mint did produce some business strikes after 1974 but they didn't have a mint mark.

Ya I know cwb, I was just confused for a second and don't know the particulars of LMC proofs. Thought the rim looked squared.

And Thanks coop, the tops of the 7 & 1 are what I saw first then the 9 when I was posting and thought darn, I know that 9 hump is MD
