Im kind of new collecting Mexican colonial coins, I'm 24 years old, I have 20 coins right now, but only 2 "8" reales coins, all from Mexico,the 8 reales coins I bought them from a person who buy scrap silver and gold metals, he doesn't sell coins, he is my friend and I bought them very very cheap, he made silver test on the coins, they are "silver" however I can see that swamperbob is the maximum authority on detecting fake 8 reales coins :) hahaha,
I want to buy the book Signed, do you accept paypal? You can send it to my uncle in laredo texas.
And hopefully I can send some pictures of my carolus iiii and let me know your opinion.
Ps. Sorry for my "bad" english.
The other 1/2, 1, 2, 4, reales I bought them from different places, they sound like silver on the ring test, they have the correct weight, I cant see any "melted signs", good patina, good details

I too love old Mexican coins.
Hopefully me bumping this thread up for you helps you get what you need. Maybe you can bump it back up later with a few pictures of your coins as click bait?

Hello!
Here is some free advice; learn, learn, LEARN! Read up on the information available about the coins [that you are interested in], spotting reals/fakes, things to look for, price ranges (so you don't overpay), etc. It goes a long way, trust me.

thanks for the advice, I'm reading all I can while I can, the only problem is that I dont know wich ones are reals/and fakes on the web! I will keep learning everything from this forum. :D
