Does anyone collect Coin Weights, like this 27.2gm one for checking Spanish 8 reales?

Very interesting. Do you own this? These weights would have a lot of history. Any others Bill?

I don't collect them but came upon this a while ago so I picked it up. I believe it's a 1620ish James I 1/2 Laurel weight out of England (I'd rather have the actual 1/2 Laurel, but oh well). It's in rough shape but I still think it's pretty neat.

Neat, atscaper! I have a few from the UK, but no book to help with identification.
And, bpoc1, here is another Spanish one. I have it marked as a Phillip IIII 4 reales weight. (Seems sort of high in weight at 18.2gms. I'll have to get it out and recheck).

I believe I only have this relatively modern one. Oops, didn't realize the photos were so blurry.

Bill, would the Coin Weight in the OP be used for Hacienda coins? I do not know dates when these early coins would have been made.

While I'm familiar with coin weights, I hadn't seen one with the castles & lions on it. That's neat!

I'm not particularly married to it, since I neither collect coin weights or guineas. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink...

It would be neat to have coin weights for corresponding coins in a collection. Only problem for me is that they are mainly for gold coins which for some odd reason can be fairly expensive.

I have one of the coins that match the first weight, a Philip IV eight reales of Segovia. Does anyone else have matching coins for the other weights pictured?

NICE, Pistereen! Puts my Phillip IIII 8 real (cleaned, etc), to shame -

MathieuMa, I would like to have your Segovia 4 real! Mine, I'm afraid, is a cob from the Seville Mint.
