The coin finally arrived. I can find some of the raised lines in the fields of the obverse but not many and I can't see any on the reverse. I had a good look with the usb gizmo and didn't note any evidence of cleaning/polish marks and yet the devices and design on both the reverse and obverse look polished in hand. There is some "Cabinet rub" on the obverse which is a bit off putting but the detail in the design on the obverse is spectacular and so is the reverse as well. The denticals are pretty much perfect yet the rim is the same as any other Canberra. Not ever having seen a Proof Canberra Florin "in hand" I am just going on the overall look of this coin and from what I have read from an article from CAB magazine that SEL kindly sent me. I am hoping that I may have finally found my "Holy Grail" coin But it could be like in the movie "The Castle" on the subject of the jousting sticks and a case of "Tell I'm he's dreamin mate". Here are a few images of the coin.

There are too many if's and but's about this coin But one thing is certain , it is totally different to any other Canberra Florin I have ever seen and I have seen one or two of these over the years It's off to the States with a bunch of other "swish" pre decimals and world coins, Wish me luck Mate

From the pics it looks like just another cleaned Unc. The rim edge on the obverse doesn't look proof and can't see any striations above the ONE.

I have never had the unique opportunity to view one of these Proofs "in hand" But I do have more than a few of these coin types in my collections. This one IS different in my eyes

It's not a proof, just a cleaned business strike.
The definition of the detail in the Parliament house is what I normally look for, the difference is like night and day.

I'd agree with Walter's comments about this coin. However it is possible that other proof or specimen strikings were made other than the regular type. Collectors should keep an open mind about proof Canberra's.
I hope you eventually find that proof Trout.

I hope you eventually find that proof Trout. If you don't look you will never find one of these in proof, I am certain there are many out there raw and they will eventually come up for sale at some time I have my doubts about this one now but I have sent it away to PCGS regardless, I will post the results when I get them. This will probably take about 6 weeks .
