I like how they took pics of actual coin then just changed the date, added the specs and colored the images gold. looks like the half will be minted in Denver? it will be interesting to see if they make the quarter a T1 OR T2.
Feel free to call me Will.

I read it'd be a type 1! I have never bought any gold, but these may just be my first.

I think that this would be a BIG HIT if they were in their original material Silver, not everybody can afford gold.

A little mix-up in the detailed description: Quote: On the 2016 Walking Liberty half dollar, the fineness and weight will be reflected on the reverse, beneath E PLURIBUS / UNUM as AU 24K / 1/10 OZ. The 1/10 OZ. is the Mercury dime replica.

Assuming these are priced like the other gold coins from the mint, and using today's prices:
Half: $795.00 Quarter: $410.00 Dime: $175.00
Makes me wonder if you wouldn't be better off dropping that kind of cash on high quality examples from the original series.
Just some quick examples from Numismedia price guide: Half: MS63 1916 = $680 price quide, or 1942 PR67 = $800 Quarter: MS63 FH 1917 Type 1 = $425 price guide Dime: 1916 MS63 FSB = $150, 1942 PR64 = $175

Is the gold a done deal now? Just within the past couple days people have been reporting getting surveys from the mint about these coins, but in some of the surveys they have been asking opinions about them in gold, and in some of them they have been asking about them in platinum.

My only problem is there is no slot in my Albums for those. Wonder why it states 24k instead of .999 fine? Now if Gold prices should drop by then, I too might get one of each. I wonder how long it will be before someone finds them in change.

That 24k...blah...blah ruins the design. I'll be passing on this one.
They really should be minting them in cupronickel clad for circulation and 90 pct silver for collectors anyway.

I imagine they'll produce these in silver too if they really want these to sell well.
If the gold sets are nice then I might be interested in dumping that sort of cash since I already know the coins will have attractive designs that I already like. However, what I know I wont like is that a 3-coin set will probably contain $1000 in gold and have a price tag on it of $1,500.
