Hi there, can someone give me a web site that gives error value for strike through on Benjamin half? I've looked at 3 sites and these did not even list the error. Thanks

Only auction would tell. If you post pics people could tell you how much they would pay.

A Strikethrough by nature is a random event done by happenstance. So the unique qualities of such events preclude a definate list or price-guide. Alot like monster rainbow toners in that regard

Thanks cascade on your comment, I kinda agree but in the back of even the Red Book it lists lamination error for all coin denominations and gives a price for each. I think lamination would fall into same catagory as strike throughs per your statement. There has to be a site that lists all types of common errors with a ball park worth, IMO !

Laminations are just that, a defective piece of the planchet metal. A Strikethrough can be anything almost from cloth to wire to hair to grease to any number of things. While I can see how you think they are related, the cache / mystery of a Strikethrough along with the crazy things a Strikethrough can do to the look of a coin put them on a whole other level than laminations in general.

That said I am.not an error expert it's just the way I see it. If I'm wrong I'm sure koinpro or Mike diamond or a slew of others who are experts here will correct me

Looks like a piece of twine may have gotten between the planchet & die. I say something soft & maluable like twine because some of the devices seem to be slightly showing at the edges and the pattern. Now I'm no expert and those pics aren't the best so could it be PMD, maybe, but I personally think a twine strikethrough. If you like it and can afford it go for it. I wonder why others aren't chiming in?

Thanks Cascade, I wish Coop or other experts would check, I can wait. I am bidding on it, and don't want to overpay. I also wonder about PMD. Have some time.

Give it an hour or two & if nobody has for some reason, start another thread with a downloaded pic & the link and title it "Help! Ends in 7 hrs"
