Hey there all. New to the Coin Community. I have been searching around for a few years now trying to find out what kind of coin this is. I am not looking for value per-se, but it is the only coin in a collection that was left for me that I cannot find. Any help is much appreciated.

It looks ancient Roman. Hopefully one of the ancient guys will stop by.

This is supposed to be an ancient Roman coin. But from what I can see it looks like a fake. The overall appearance just doesn't look right, the lettering in the legend are not defined and mushy. This could be just the picture. Would need a better one of the obverse and would also need a picture of the reverse. Until I see better ones IMO the coin doesn't look right to me.

I'd need to see the other side of the coin also (guessing it is a Moneta reverse) but I think it could be real, maybe from Ticinum (pos also Alexandria) and it is somebody from the tetrarchy but not sure who, whoever they were they made Emperor but it could be one of the lesser know protagonists.

I know I am new here.... but I agree with echizento that something about it doesn't look right. The patina looks off to me. Even when coins are cleaned, it still does not look right.

Hopefully the OP will return at some point but if anyone fancies a guessing game I'm going for Alexandria, GENIO IMPERATORIS sadly we may never be able to say for sure who the Emperor is but I suspect it is Galerius or Licinius.

I never understood why people will only show one side of the coin. Its a coin and USUALLY has two sides. Perplexing for sure.
