Did't they have a design contest for those? Those must be the designers that won. Interesting set tom. What'd ya pick em up for? Would these be considered sample slabs or just signature ones like the Mercanti ASE's

I have not research these slabs .. so not sure how many or why they were put out.
I just paid the regular coin price. Nothing extra for the slabs.

They do say Gem Proof
Gem is a sort of general grade.
BU, CH and Gem are old school general grades
But .. they do not have a number grade.

Saw these the other day on HSN Coin Vault ($199+$8.95 S&H) It is the first time I had seen them. They are a nice little addition to an OGP Bicentennial set. According to "Mike", PCGS certifies the coin and the signature as original.

Proof is not a grade. Gem is a grade, although not what one expects with the Sheldon scale being more "official." Interesting set though.

I would think you would want or have that ike jbuck. Wish I had a Morgan in an old envelope or card with George's signature on it.

I definitely want to add one of these to my slabbed set. I'll have to start keeping an eye out for one.
