Surprisingly this was in the first box of Lincoln's I ever searched. 1996 struck through a rotating capped die. While not in the best of condition I knew I messed up the second it went in the post box. Probably never see one in person again. Do you have any coins you know you should have kept?

Back in 94 I sold a bunch of coins in Whitman albums to help with the purchase of a boat. I don't regret having the boat ,but I do regret selling all those coins. fortunately I still have a lot left.

I sold my Morgan set (mostly raw) several years back. Part of the set was an 1893-S, PCGS G-6. Also an 1894, PCGS VF-35. I should have kept them since they're keys and were slabbed.

I have no regrets. Buying and selling is a fluid undertaking for me. Even when I've had to sell stuff I liked and didn't want too I don't regret it, in my business it's about what's next not what was, which applies to coins as well. With this mindset a lot will pass through your hands and the very best can be stashed away.

I regret selling all three of my Native American C&C set with the enhanced Sacabuck. Oh well... made 3x what I paid on 2 of them and 2x on the other.

Ouch. I have never had a sell/give regret. Plenty of "not buying" regrets though.

A gorgeous blue MS IHC. A spectacular double-sided rim-toned Kennedy. Would buy either back in a heartbeat. There are probably others, but those are the two that pop to the surface immediately.

Considering how much I've learned about coins by selling some of them, I would be in Cascade's realm of opinion. During a lifetime of collecting anything, including coins, there are those who will never sell anything - and kudos to them.
But for me, there have been a number of opportunities present themselves over the years where I needed fast cash to make a significant purchase at what I considered a bargain price, and often one collectible series or another suffered.
I can think of zillions of things I've owned and sold that I'd still love to have, but if I had to trade what I've learned by selling those items, I'm sure I'd keep it just the way it is.

Yeah, I sold my Whitman Mercury dime folder to my step father for face value back in the early 70's. If I remember correctly, Merc dimes were still circulating back in the 60's which is where I got most of them. I know I had a worn 1921 in there.

Without a doubt I have lot of regrets. I inherited my coins in 1982 at the age of 18 when my grandmother died and sold many rolls (like $100 face worth) of 90% whenever I was low on funds in my college days. Unfortunately this was after the price of silver had dropped from the Hunts brothers spike. Later, around 1988 I think, to fund a long weekend in NYC with a girlfriend that was moving there, I sold almost all of my extra large & Half Cents (about 100, all post 1814 except the halves which were 1804, 1809 & 1828)for $5 each to a dealer. In hindsight it was a great weekend but I'll never know how many Newcomb/Cohen varieties I let slip through my fingers Such is the folly of youth...

Not a US coin, picked up a 2002 1/10oz panda for $100. A frenzy hit with this coin, I sold it for $1200. If I would have waited another month or so I could have gotten $2500. Oh well still profited quite nicely on it.

In January 2014 I had to sell my 2012P ATB Hawaiian Volcanoes 5oz puck to pay the mortgage. I had been on unemployment and on December 31, 2013 all the extensions expired.

I bought a bag of junk world coins off of an old coworker for a couple bucks. In there was a fake British pound coin (mushy details, sloppy edge lettering). When I found out it was fake, I lost interest in it and left it in a store for a kid to find. I wish that I had kept it for my own kids to enjoy, but I like to think it found a good home.
I do regret not offloading my small silver stash when prices topped $45/oz in 2011, and also not starting CRHing halves before the silver craze was in full swing. But, I might as well regret not investing in Apple stock or not registering the twitter.com domain.
