I just weighed out the foreign coins I have that I collected from the coin counter at my bank over the last year or so and it is up to 4 pounds. These are the foreign coins that get stuck to the undercarriage magnet as the coins past through the coin machine. My issue is I saved them from being melted but now they are getting excessive.

Can someone give me an idea how I can get rid of them where they will not get melted down? There is no silver so I guess that's why I still have them.

thanks

I've been to coin shops where they put together "mystery" bags of foreign coins and sell them for a couple bucks a piece. My nephews got a big kick of them when I gave them each a grab bag when they visited. You could try the same thing, maybe on ebay or some other sales avenue?

Another idea is you could donate them to a coin club with younger collectors. Many of them get a huge kick out of the different designs. I still pick some common foreign coins up from time to time myself if I like the design.

To bad school is out right now or I'd say contact the nearest grade school and ask if they want them for the kids.
Rest in Peace

Is there any coin clubs near you? If so they could give them out to YN's.
