Funny how it almost perfectly bisects the coin and is parallel to the line between the log and the island. I think somebody scribed it. for whatever reason.

Looks like PMD to me, doesn't go from rim to rim.

IMO neither if I see it correctly.
It looks raised and goes across everything.
I see it as a die scratch.

If it was a die scratch, why would it affect both the fields AND the devices? I'm leaning toward some sort of planchet defect / plating bubble explanation for this error.

I goes from Rim to bead, but goes over the design. However, it looks too good to be a scratch ( I might sounds crazy here, as I have little knowledge on errors). But it's too straight to be done by hand and knife, but not straight enough to have been done with hand, knife and ruler.

Might it be the same damage done by old coin rolling machines? It's a long straight scratch across the nickel.
