I think what you might be seeing is progressive wear of the working punches (used to create the working dies) and Die Deterioration. The differences in the crown on the obverse portraits certainly speak to me of this... Canadian plated coins are known for progressive Die Deterioration...

Thanks for reply SPP. I accept that some of what I can see could be due to that. But not the fact that the 5 ob the left is squat and the 0 is round where as the 5 on the right is taller and the 0 is oval. Those are surely different design elements? zooz

zookeeper here is a news release on your fifty cent pieces. I don't know how to attach a link so I will just copy some of it. you might want to hang on to them coins they are colloctors here is the company. All Nations Stamp & Coin that posted this comment here is a little comment they posted. There are some production flaws to watch for on the Golden Jubilee coin. We have seen several die chip varieties where the R in Regina is supplanted by a crater. There is also a G spot variety towards the top of the G in Regina in some of the coins we inspected. these words are by this company

I cannot disagree with you, with the scale of the photos. If you have the ability to take some macro photos of the features you are speaking of, there are lots of folks here that would definitely be interested in seeing them.

I have seen someone asking for this coin with a different effigy, with the queen having the smaller crown, like the other coins of 2002. Does this coin exist, because I have looked at hundreds if not thousands of these coins?

The "normal effigy" can be found only in Proof and Specimen Sets.
