Here are some of our more recent additions: Large size legal tender notes were printed for many different years. The $1.00 red Seal issued in 1917 are the most common and can be bought in perfect condition for about $200.00. There are at least 4 or 5 different designs for the $1.00 note alone. There were 5 series of the $5.00 note' They are series from 1869, 1875, 1878, 1880, and 1907 . The 1907 Note, the one shown here is a legal tender note also called a United States Note. This one is nicknamed the Woodchopper note because of the farm family pictured on the note, I suppose. To the left of the family is a Vignette of Andrew Jackson . The 1907 note is the last $5.00 note he is pictured on. Edited by Collectorlady 06/30/2015 8:15 pm

Now, when you say "our", you do mean yours and mine, right? Can you give us a little history lesson on these?

"Now, when you say "our", you do mean yours and mine, right? " Not Quite !I mean by "our" My husband of almost 63 years and me.Our Collection started in 1955. These two notes are 2 of many we have. The 1917 $1.00 Red Seal is one of my favorites, but the Woodchopper is really, really one of my favorites. We like all the old currency.

That is really wonderful, thanks for sharing! Congratulations on such a long marriage; you don't see that too often now. Any secrets you want to divulge for those of us looking to replicate your success?

1. Trust in God Trust each other Remain faithful
It takes 2 to quarrel..walk away if things get criss crossed once in awhile. Don't be too proud to say"I'm sorry" My husband and I only had each other when he was in service 1953-1955. We had no phone, television,or any of the things people have today so we had to "getalong " to get along. When we married we pledged to love and honor each other through sickness and health and we have stuck to that.We have both had serious health problems, but our faith and love for each other have seen us through.
I wish all of you good, successful marriages.

Thanks for this. My wife and I also collect currency together, and the 1917 US Notes are our favorites as well!
