Hi

Does anyone know if this might be one of those 1968 no mint mark dimes?

That is a normal dime from the Philly mint. The no S dime is on a proof dime and yours is a business strike.

There are some no-P error dimes, but it is only possible from 1980 onward.

I've heard also about the 1982 dime. I haven't seen any of those.
Wouldn't mind finding one.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate your help.

Keeping looking for the 1982 no mint-mark dime. I got one from a bank roll a couple years ago. They're still out there!

The old unmintmarked dimes are disappearing fast from circulation. The attrition on the early dimes has been quite high and now it's even higher because they're getting thinner, lighter, and harder to hold. They're more likely to drop through cracks or to roll away. People won't chase a dime as far they used to.

Reports of NMM's will probably keep increasing as people pay more attention to their coins and there are fewer and fewer out there.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I believe the '82 no P dime is the only US business strike coin to leave the mint without its intended mint mark...it was definitely the first ever but I dont think there's been any since either(business strikes that is)

Are these type of dimes worth spending the time pursuing financially.

Depending upon the responses I may change my priorities...

Thanks everyone. I was asking about this one because I had heard or read something about watching for these if no s mint mark, but I believe that is only if it's a proof? This one appears to be a business strike so therefore it's not what I had thought it might of been.

I will keep my eyes open for a 1982 no mint mark. It would be nice to fnd
one of those.
