First ...

Not to self .. don't walk into a coin shop with more money
than I like to spend ... when I can't stop myself form
buying round shiny objects.

Does anyone else have that same problem?

-----------------------------------------------------

I looked back at this years plan to purchase a couple
upgrades for my type set. So made some rounds at a few
coin shops ... to see if there were any deals out there.

I thought I would take a couple quick pictures to show the
damage.

First picture 1866 Three Cent Nickel. This coin is much better than the one in my 7070. But, it is going to be tough
for me to break this one out of the slab, to place in my
album.

I also bought a 1916 Mercury for my type set .. I guess
because I always wanted that date in my album.

I hope to get these coins in my albums, and take better
pictures later this weekend.

Earlier this week I bought a Dansco Roosevelt album. It
was almost complete .. but with very low grade coins.
With that in mind, I also bought a 1949 S Roosevelt,
to get me a start on upgrading that album.

Lastly, I was offered a good price on some Walking Liberty
half dollars. I could not remember which ones I needed so
I picked up most of the last two pages. Something like
1940 S through 1947 D.

This is where I hope I did not mess up .. Hoping they are
all BU or better.

Again .. as I get these coins into the albums .. I will
try to get some better pictures.

Rest in Peace

Seriously nice coins. I wouldn't be able to convince myself to crack out that 3 cent nickel, though.

Sweet pickups, I thought those walkers were ASEs!

...and how on God's green earth are you going to muster the courage to crack that plastic. I would think it akin to that canyon hiker who had to cut his own arm off in Utah a few years back!

Very nice pickups! Those Walkers look brand new. And I, too, have that same problem at my LCS lol.

Nice acquisitions!

You know how I feel about slabs and filling holes in Dansco albums.

The holes win every time.

YES! I have to limit my funds I bring to a coin shop/show etc. I get way to tempted to buy nice shiny things. Heck ill get to my truck and count only 60$ left out of a 1000 I bring. Ahh the temptation.

Anyway awesome pickups and I love that 3cent piece. Stellar color on it all the way around, I like
Rest in Peace

It's a good thing I don't have an LCS close buy. I would be living on Ramen noodles...

Great looking group shot!

I agree that it is a good thing I don't have a coin shop near by...Those are all nice coins and there is no way I could crack that 3 cent out. Very nice looking coin!

Does this help? Not quite the same caliber of coin but I haggled over cracking this for my Dansco album for quite some time until yesterday...

Do it... let the album fever flow through you... I can feel your desire to upgrade the hole... ;) I have decided to look at it like jbuck just crack it out before I have too much time to think about it and never look back.

Or this?

Actually, it is a tough decision to crack and I have a few I have not. I really like to look through my coins in albums however, so I tend to succumb.

KenKat .... I was hoping you would offer a reply.

I was wondering how you got so many nice coins in your
7070 ....now I know .. breaking all those nice slabs open.
