Noticed this for sale and might be interested.
Not too familiar with error pricing.
Seller asking $150.00. Is this too much or a fair price?
Thanks for any help.

Well, I'm not so familiar with error coin pricing either, but I just gotta say that's one spectacular error. Usually, the worse the error is, the more $$$. Whether $150 is fair though, I don't know.

1996 was the first year of the twoonie and there were a lot of these errors with the misaligned core. I would say $50 is a good price but $150 is too much. One sold a few days ago for $52.

that is a monster off set,

similar sold on ebay for $130
lesser off set (by about 1/2) $65

$150 might be a bit steep but it's not that far off

I would offer him $100...if he says no than walk away. it will be no skin off your nose and there will be more available to you in your travels.

Value on errors depends on how dramatic they are. The OP's example is much more off center than the piece which sold for $52 recently on ebay. I'd value the OP's at around $100-120
